Self-proclaimed "boutique club" Diva Beach fittingly laid its glossy foundations in London's Chelsea this autumn. RedKarpet takes a snapshot view. (15 Dec '08)
Ethos
Unashamedly exudes luxury, glamour and playful narcissism. Diva Beach's influences lie in its very name, reflecting Miami’s 1930’s art deco style and present day Miami beach culture. The club's hand picked mirrors encourage guests to preen and the finish of materials includes a bespoke blend of iridescent mosaics, layers of shimmer fabrics, hand-finished polished plasters and glistening marbles.
Interiors
Furnishings include deep-buttoned white leather lounge chairs and
day
beds, polished nickel fittings and highly lacquered custom-made tables.
Cutting edge, alluring lighting effects and a state of the art sound
system add to the creation of intimate zones and private suites taking
guests from a relaxed
9pm chillout to a 3am funky Miami Beach House finish.
Fuel
Guests
can sip a comprehensive range of champagnes and cocktails on the day
beds while enjoying sushi and sashimi. The light, fresh cocktails are
served with frozen grapes and some cocktails are entirely new, such as
the apple, violet and ginger Divatini.
Champagnes range from bottles under £100 to rare vintages and the 20-bottle Nebuchad- nezzar.
Diva Beach also claims a national first with its dedicated Champagne
Lounge selection where up to 15 guests can relax in private.
The Lounge (see headline picture) mingles
bronze mirrors and a crystal chandelier with the elegant gold cocktail
dress of the Lounge's Moët hostess. The dedicated champagne hostess
brings magnums to guests' table in the very limited edition ‘Golden
Pod’ – an ice cold bottle, encased in a gold steeljacket and locked in
a luminous gold cage to which guests are given a personal key.
To
really make the champagne sparkle, magnums and jeroboams can be
specially personalised with Swarovski crystals or even in gold.
Diva Beach is the only club in the UK to offer the super premium Russian Standard Imperia vodka. Guests ordering ‘The Silver Service’
are served with the elegant and unusual 1.75l bottle served in a silver ice bucket.
Wrapped around the neck of the bottle is a silver chain and dog tags engraved with the Diva Beach and bear and eagle Russian Standard emblems as a memento of the night.
