The Venice watch      (Events-Film Branding)

Where better to stage luxury brand endorsement than at a major film festival film? Renowned Swiss Haute Horlogerie brand Jaeger-LeCoultre successfully blended product placement and stars such as Sylvester Stallone (pictured above) with the Venice Film Festival.         RedKarpet's Kenza Dali checked out Jaeger-LeCoultre's role at the Venice Film Festival this week. This might be the 66th International Venice Film Festival but Jaeger-LeCoultre's official support of the event for the past five years put the watch manufacturer in pole position at the festivities in Venice.

These ranged from the famous Golden Lion prize-giving ceremony to the celebration of the film-making heritage. And naturally, the company's product visibility glittered on the wrists of the stars in attendance for their film screenings.

Matt Damon was here to promote The Informant! earlier this week for which he famously had to wolf down burgers and beer and add 30lb weight for the role.

On Friday Nicholas Cage and Eva Mendes attended the photo call for their latest film Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call New Orleans. Cage wore Jaeger-LeCoultre's Reverso watch for the photography at the Palazzo del Casino.

Tuesday saw Jérôme Lambert, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre host a glamorous party in the spectacular surroundings of the Cipriani Hotel. Talent at the party included actress Catherine Deneuve, the Duchess of York, Giovanna Mezzogiorno, Riccardo Scamarcio and professional polo player Eduardo Novillo Astrada.

The Duchess of York attended as ambassador for her charity “Children in Crisis” which is supported by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Sylvester Stallone was also in town being honoured for the Jaeger-LeCoultre "Glory to the Filmmaker Award." The prize is awarded to an artist whose work has had a significant resonance with contemporary cinema.

Jaeger-LeCoultre exploited the event's prestige as a launch platform for the unveiling of its new watch "Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie." Asked about its launch, CEO Jérôme Lambert said: “What better place than Venice, the heart of the European culture and art, to present the newest masterpiece, an epitome of the Swiss watchmaking and the highest ever reached in complication: the Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie?”

A major player in watchmaking history, Jaeger-LeCoultre has now celebrated its 175th anniversary. The manufacturer has an impressive range of world firsts and name models to its credit, including the Reverso, the Duoplan, the Master Control, the Memovox Polaris, the Gyrotourbillon I and the Atmos.
