ISES' First Lady (People)



The UK Chapter of the International Special Event Society (ISES) has  elected its first female president for a decade. Zanine Adams (above) is to hold office for the 2009-2010 term.    Kenza Darley (12 Mar'09)

Adams is well known in the event and venue industry as UK sales manager and head of event solutions at Visit London and she will be in post this July.

Her role at Visit London has been to drive a range of meetings, congresses and incentives travel events to London while her lead at Visit London’s Event Solutions sees Adams's team impart free advice on business opportunities in London to event organisers.

No stranger to ISES, Adams has already served as VP of marketing for two years on the ISES UK board. She takes over from Will Boome, current President of ISES UK.  

“We are delighted that Zanine has accepted this position," said Broome. "Her leadership skills and international contacts within the events industry will be a huge asset to the UK ISES Chapter. Zanine’s strategic focus will help the Chapter continue to grow its reputation as a leading industry body."

Adams responsibilities will include driving membership growth, devising a compelling events and educational programme and building global relationships.

“These are challenging times for the events industry," Adams said. "We have the world’s biggest event coming to London in 2012 and therefore this is the time for the industry to step forward, work together andshow global businesses that events are still the most effective way of communicating and engagingstakeholders.”
