The
live events and communications company, led by Simon Allison, Russell
Blandford and Lee Forde, delivered various production elements for The
Glamour in Gloucestershire Ball which raised over £54,000 for the Hop,
Skip & Jump charity. Elizabeth Hurley (pic above),
the charity’s president, was the striking hostess of the ball held at
Cheltenham Racecourse recently and duly injected the glam factor.
The Hop, Skip & Jump charity is self-supporting and was founded by
professional speaker Clarissa Mitchell in 1982 to support children with
special needs. “We are always looking for new ways to raise money to
support Hop, Skip & Jump, and those families who rely on it,” said
Lucy Garbutt, chairman of the new fund-raising committee “so we decided
to throw a party which promised to be the most high-profile, exciting
and prestigious event the county has ever seen.”
The pace was
quickened for Grass Roots with Elizabeth Hurley hosting a table at the
event and parading her Elizabeth Hurley Beach collection on the night.
The company volunteered its specialisms and met the challenges of the
larger than anticipated event. "Our production suppliers generously
helped us out and it was a real
team effort making sure everything was set up in time on the day and
then ran smoothly through the event,” said Simon Allison, Grass Roots'
director of operations and production.
The
Glamour in Gloucestershire branding of black, pink and silver was woven
into the lighting and the venue by Grass Roots. Its team supplied
technical production ranging from pink wash lighting, presentations and
loops screened on plasma TVs for the auctions and lighting for the
catwalk show, to the PA system, music and wireless mics.
"It
was a huge pleasure to work with Grass Roots and we would recommend
them time and time again," enthused client Lucy Garbutt. "The
professionalism, determination and dedication to perfection was
outstanding and without them the Glamour in Gloucestershire Ball would
not have been the event we had hoped for.”
