Mandarin appoints GM (People)

hotel operator the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed a new
general manager at its Hyde Park, London property. Abigail Parkin 28 Apr'09
Anthony McHale (left) assumed the post earlier this month and brings over 30 years' experience of managing luxury hotels globally.
He joins Mandarin Oriental from the role of general manager at Keswick Hall Club and Estate in Charlottesville Virginia, an Orient Express Hotels property that has featured in various “world’s best hotels” lists.
McHale's other management roles include the award-winning Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans and, prior to this, The Hotel Bel Air, Los Angeles.
Valuable
management experience was also garnered through his tenure at groups
such as Peninsula Hotels and Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.
McHale,
who is British but holds US and Canadian citizenship, has been a member
of the Chaine des Rôtisseurs, an officer of Confrérie des Chevaliers du
Tastevin and a board member of the New Orleans Tourism and Marketing
Association.

Mandarin Oriental now operates and develops 41 hotels in 25 countries, with 17 hotels in Asia, 14 in The Americas and 10 in Europe and North Africa.
