Headonism, Jouët-style (Product Launch)

Champagne house Perrier-Jouët and master milliner Stephen Jones herald in the summer season with customary exclusivity. Bethany Hutton-Stigge (13 May'09)
The
word "exclusive" is all too often used loosely these days but the
bespoke creation of the Belle Epoque Hatbox has restored meaning to the
word. With just eight of the personalised items available in the UK, at
a price of £5,000, this edition is indeed limited.
Perrier-Jouët and Stephen Jones have created an ensemble that combines a personalised leather hatbox and matching designer hat, exclusively available through Harrods. Handmade by Italian craftsmen, the hatbox luxuriously weaves together white leather, natural green silk and gold thread.
For
hedonists who will be navigating the summer's choicest event and party
fixtures the Belle Epoque accessories bring a travelling case that
contains a Christofle silver ice bucket designed for Perrier-Jouët, two hand-blown anemone flutes and a bottle of Belle Epoque 1999.
Stephen Jones has designed an original anemone creation to complement the hatbox, inspired by Belle Epoque’s iconic bottle design. His craft earned him the “Outstanding Achievement Award” at the British Fashion Awards 2008. His pedigree and the very limited pieces available make the hat a coveted accessory for the season ahead.
Perrier-Jouët's own pedigree stretches back to 1811 and its association with the creative arts saw the design of Emile Gallé's arresting enamelled anemone bottle for Cuvée Belle Epoque back in 1902.
