The recent opening of British Airways' Galleries Club Lounge gives premium passengers and top tier oneworld members a new, luxurious space to languish in pre-flight. Bethany Hutton-Stigga 3 June '09
The 300-capacity space is open to eligible flyers travelling to Barcelona, Madrid, Lisbon, Helsinki, Vienna and Malaga.
Not
resting on its laurels, British Airways has also announced the opening
of another lounge later this year. The dedicated 250-seat lounge is for
customers travelling in First and its launch coincides with the
transfer of long haul flights to Sydney, Bangkok and Singapore from
Terminal 4.
"The new and amazingly spacious lounge offers the
same fabulous luxury and comfort as the lounge complex in Terminal 5,"
said Silla Maizey, British Airways' customer director. "It will bring
the glamour back to Terminal 3."
That
glamour manifests itself in Swarovski chandeliers twinkling over the
Silver Bar in the Galleries Club and with furnishings by Osborne &
Little.
Work and entertainment zones are also available
with free wi-fi. There is also a dedicated "Kidzone" room for younger
passengers with interactive furnishings, a magnetic wall and toys.
An
Elemis travel spa, offering a range of beauty therapies and treatments,
will open in the new lounge complex later in the year. Travellers can
choose from a range of enticing shops and services in Terminal 3,
including Harrods, Jo Malone, Paul Smith and Emporio Armani.

When fully operational, both the Galleries First Lounge and Galleries Club Lounge will open at 05:00 until the last scheduled departure of the day.
