Platinum pursuits (Sitegeist - Getaways)

Ski
services are set to soar to new levels of luxury thanks to VIP, a
bespoke luxury ski chalet company, which is bolstering comforts among
its chalets in the French Alps.
The initiative sees its new VIP Platinum Collection herald in the forthcoming winter season.

Guests
can specify personal menus on consultation with personal chefs who can
prepare meals using organic and locally sourced produce. Whether French
or cosmopolitan cuisine is ordered it will be nicely complemented with
a selection of wines and champagne from a private cellar selected by
the platinum master sommelier.
Dedicated 4X4 vehicles will ferry
guests from A to B with their own private chauffeurs. The Platinum
Collection properties feature outdoor hot tubs, sauna or hammam and,
more exclusively, a private cinema (pic above).
The
purveying of luxury in a cautious economy isn't lost on VIP managing
director, Andy Sturt. "We have some exceptional properties within our
VIP ski portfolio," he says. "We now intend to complement this in a few
select locations with an enhanced guest experience.
"We
recognise that in these more austere times there is still a demand for
excellence of service, but that this has to be at a sensible price. By
launching our new VIP Platinum Collection we will be offering the
ultimate ski experience and outstanding value for money."
Chalet Davos, Val d'Isère and Taiga Lodge, Méribel will be the first chalets in the VIP Platinum Collection with enhanced services.
They will be available from £1,350 per person in January 2010 including flights and private transfers.
